Helping out on the Heath

Hampstead Heath is one of my favourite places in London, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to serve on the management committee.  The Committee also looks after Highgate Wood and Queen’s Park.

In order to get to know the Heath better I persuaded my work colleagues to volunteer for the morning.  The Heath is run as a charity and encourages people to volunteer, either as a group or individuals.  We successfully cut back a lot of foliage and were lucky to receive a tour from an expert.

I’m very struck by the expertise we have in those who work on the Heath.  I’m delighted to play my part in preserving this wonderful resource for London.
